How long would it take a beginner in 3D modeling to sculpt a face like this from scratch?

Every stroke you make will create a lump and every stroke you make to rix a lump will creat 2 more lumps, and youll waste away your life trying to smooth out bumps and never actually make the model.

What do you mean?
Anonymous No.1020224 [Report] >>1020226
>>1020223
They mean "since I do not have the technical or artistic knowledge to give an informed answer on a creative board I'm gonna mention a random fancy piece of technology in hopes it makes me look clever while also minimizing the idea that creative artistry can be involved in things people like, which always gets me erect on a creative board"

He may be wrong on metahumans in this particular case but is on the right track, if that's all OP is looking to do in regards to 3dcg he can just churn out metahuman slop

Op asked about sculpting *from scratch* so obviously this isn't a question about automatic generators

It would be prudent to assume laymen have no idea on what they want and how to achieve it, especially if they care more about time spent like OP and not the process itself
Anonymous No.1020291 [Report]

you could do it. from total scratch then a week to learn the software, several weeks making stylised things. then get a base head mesh and try and recreate existing faces. 3 months.
you can find resources like
HUMAN: Realistic Portrait Creation with Blender
online which, once you can use software, show you what to do.
Anonymous No.1020302 [Report]
Most in the industry use base meshes. You're wasting your time and potential starting from a sphere. To make from scratch varies on your investment in the form of practice and study.

Op here, I think I'll just download a game with a nice character creator and just go from there. Instead of sharing learning resources that you can vouch for, you'd rather yap about irrelevant stuff. You guys were not helpful at all.

Be sure to keep us posted on your utter lack of progress! If you were really going for that option you'd have done it already

Ill be real homie if you can't look up shit yourself and problem solve you aren't gonna get far in 3d at all, have fun in your character creator game i guess
Anonymous No.1020336 [Report]
Newfags gotta realise you aren't special, we're not about to slurp on your shaft up and down just because you twiddle your thumbs and fantasize about being a great artist someday. If it's not too hard and doesn't take too long, of course. There are fucking hundreds of millions of meatbags like you with burned attention spans

I find it telling that instead of owning up to how you treated me, you’d rather stay bitter about it. Says a lot about your character.

You never asked for any resources or help retard. You just asked how much time would it take for you to get to the op pic level. And the answer for you is NEVER.

Give it a rest, unc. You reacted in the worst way possible and got called out for it.

The end.

there's nothing particularly hard about this sculpt, it's not like a grizzled old man with wrinkles and other shit

Longer than someone who knows what they're doing lol. it's always a bunch of back and forth, but as a beginner you'll be doing it a lot more. Keep changing camera and lighting angles as you work to continuously reveal what shapes your model actually has at whatever given moment.

Koreans can make bodies but they can't model appealing faces to save their lives

The secret is grinding art from childhood which you never did. They've been forced do that by their parents and weren't allowed to do other hobbies

No, they only do this for academic subjects.

They have art cram schools in many Asian countries to prepare for entrance exams to universities
