I can see why people are tired of this arc. There are very few fuck yeah or emotional moments and they've all been Zuma-based so far. I actually like this fight more than the Two previous ones.
Aira + Cookie Vs the headless basketball players was okay at best, but it lacked interesting turns and upsets other than the revelation of the PE teacher being the mastermind behind them
Okarun + Kinta Vs Bully and Alien baddie was extremely straight forward to the point it hurts the story.
Okarun never engages with his bully or the alien chick on a emotional level and his relationship with Kinta is also still the same, plus we didn't even get an update about his powers or physical abilities.
This arc whoever established a dynamic between Jiji and Zuma, has a bigger sense of urgency with Momo fading away, showcases new abilities for vamola and makes her talk more, and the fight itself is way better than the others.

I think that, in a fucked up way, Tatsu has kind of compartmentalized the idea of what the Kito family did as something in the past that both made them villains but also something that he could make peace with as far as crimes go. Like in some roundabout way he's already decided to thematically forgive them for being literally serial killers and cultist sacrificing monsters because they're kind of funny and work really well as cartoonish villains that he can have jump around and make stupid puns with.

It is funny that all three of those elements felt so real and grim that they added a real grounded nature to the ridiculous fights around them. I guess that's a perfect contextualization for why this plane arc has felt like the "insert random shit" element has been amplified. Momo is like 2 inches tall while the family that wanted to rape her and sacrifice Jiji are literally riding a Death Worm they pulled out of a suitcase into the stratosphere so they can pierce a giant eyeball and then bring the plane back out of void space.

There's nothing grounding this madcap shit the way that Tatsu tried to ground Okarun/Aira's fights at least a little. I know the manga is funny/sweet first and foremost but what is even the point of the Kito family if they're used like this.

Considering how a ton of theaters have too many screens its very easy to do. Im pretty sure that's what demon slayer did during the pandemic when theaters had fuck all to show. In this day and age where you can sub something so easily, no reason to not premiere actual anime movies at the exact same time. Everyone only benefits. It took too long for pokemon to do global game releases but it got there.

Saw it during the weekend and I think Kino is too high a praise. It was pretty good, like a B+. Clearly a film composed of smaller episodes of a tv show- didn't have the kind of over the top production value of anime film adaptations that were produced solely for the big screen. It was pretty awkward how often you could recognize the break between episodes where the themes/credits would go.

Still, it maintained a lot of the sense of scale of the arc in the manga and the fights were all solid. I thought the backstory for Evil Eye was a little less effective than how Silky's background was adapted, but the person I went with didn't know the manga and said they got caught off guard with how heavy and sad it was. So I think most people will probably find it properly affecting

I wonder if Tatsu will finally start giving Jiji some shine in the series since his VA is making history and breaking records
