Yeah LN does poor job relaying that and generally has issues with logic. Like a lot of shit is scrapped and replaced with extended arcs, but relationships between characters stay as if the stuff from WN still happened. Shield hero is treated like an asshole when he does nothing to deserve that. When other heroes job to Kyo they are treated like dangerous criminals instead of losers. It doesn't make sense at all.
