Are these scans from the Kodansha english release that was collected in 8 volumes? Do they have the colour pages in tact? Earlier this year I bought myself all 12 volumes of the original Tokyopop run for nostalgia reasons (i only had the first 2 vols when i was a kid) and they obviously dont have the colour pages. Also while its flopped the translation really isn't that bad, the only egregious changes are people's names. they toy with keeping tamiya ryoko's name very briefly in volume 4 and then revert back to tamara rockford in the next volume which is funny if anything

I have it on good authority from Azrael that a big part of the problem with teaching in Japan is how little power they actually have to deal with troublemakers. Admittedly, he was a black immigrant teaching English, and it was in the early 2000s, maybe they actually could punish students in the early 90s but I wouldn't be surprised if this guy is just riding on his assumed authority rather than it being something he's actually allowed to do.
