Tamers isn't as good as you were told me. Well, it's not actually bad, but the completely different setting, absence of the digital world and reducing the Digimon to the NPC "designed just to battle each other" repulses me.

I'm at the episode 7 now, and I don't really know whether I should keep watching this or force myself to return to watching Tri.

Anyway, seems like nothing will ever give me the same joy as the original Digimon Adventure...

Holy fuck, you're getting obnoxious now, and your media literacy is that of a toddler if you genuinely think the show is saying "Digimon are tools" when it's very clearly an opinion held by one character.
>I don't really know whether I should keep watching this or force myself to return to watching Tri.
there is no fucking way you're a real person, you're clearly baiting at this point or severely autistic

>Digimon are tools
They literally are. Just look at how wild Digimon are behaving. Their entire existence in Tamers universe is just fighting other Digimon and consuming their data.

If you're not enjoying a show after three episodes, just stop. No need to make a thread and offer some banal commentary about something which should be common sense.

Just quit watching, you are obviously too annoying so you will keep bothering us with your need for instant gratification.

It's absolute garbage and the Deva arc is so fucking bad, most of the people that praise the show only talk about the last 12~ episodes.

I actually agree with you. It still BTFOs didn't-even-Tri, and i'd still call it one of the better shows (low bar), but the first third or so is what it is. If you go in with high expectations, instead of off the back of 02, or else with none, then i can see how it would be disappointing and somewhat frustrating. No shame in skipping ahead.
>Anyway, seems like nothing will ever give me the same joy as the original Digimon Adventure...
Yeah.

You're so obnoxious.
You have to see this show as a different universe since it isn't building on Adventure... But THIS is what makes it a "non-Adventure" show. It's a show made not as a sequel to Adventure, but as a new take on the Digimon concept.

It's an urban show for the first half, but it does this aspect quite well with immersion and care. The "digimon are in a survival of the fittest" angle IS supposed to feel uncomfortable, but that's what the protagonists are supposed to navigate. Other Digimon and Ruki/Renamon being so rough is also what makes Takato/Guilmon and Wong/Terriermon dynamics so sweet, the justaposition, the tamer and Digimon bond is still there, but it has a new context around it. When you have harsher darkness it also makes the light shine brighter.

It is a good show, but if you just want nostalgia masturbation, I guess go back to Trishit.
