the last chapter was released after like a four month break but that was over a year ago. Mangaka made noises about an undisclosed illness and that the publisher was being understanding about it. For what it's worth they also still seem to treat it as an active manga, or at least haven't explicitly canned it

Well to be fair, it only had 7 chapters in 2 years, though I am starting to suspect that the thing about "oh they cant' show them fucking or getting together otherwise the Manga ends because sales go down" is cope, nowdays there is a lot of Manga (especially Isekai) where characters fuck and the story goes on, I think is....having seen and dropped a good chunk of Manga, that a lot of Mangaka can't see past the premise, they can't work out the consequences of the action of their character and thus can only maintain an endless limbo, because otherwise the more things would progress and the more reality would start breaking apart by the inconsistencies it would create.

It's always been about writing and the willingness of all parties involved to let characters fuck and hopefully grow as a response
I'm so goddamn sick and bored of manga for literal children in their early teens that drag shit out for 500 chapter like its a US Sitcom and then kill it by "haha they finally got together and said "i love you =)"
