Author is American, illustrator of the webcomic is Indonesian. They switched illustrators recently so I don't know about the new one, but for much of what you're reading it's illustrated by the Indonesian.
I dropped it because the current arc is boring, maybe I'll pick it up again

2 seasons of this probably cost like 1/4 of other season shows

What bothered me the most about this show wasn't the low budget but the disconnect between the King and Arthur.
Felt like 2 different characters from the beginning to the end

It does. Webtroon is currently on a training arc which is absolutely horrible. Maybe I have shit taste but the story absolutely takes off immediately after he's done with that training arc. Unlikely anything good will actually get animated though. If we're lucky S2 will end with Arthur stomping that arrogant half-elf's balls to death for committing treason and threatening to rape Tessia which, while I wouldn't call it good, was at least satisfying. Basically everything up until the invasion from the other continent is standard "you tried to bully me but activated my trap card and now I'm gonna bully you instead!" power-wank slop.

Not much really happened in 12 episodes.

The most notable events were when he got separated from his parents and the goofy CG dragons, which were in the first episodes.

A fun watch, mostly because it showed me how terrible anime can be sometimes. Garbage animation aside, the plot was really bad too. The incessant Brando Sando-induced magic system wank was unbearable as well. I might give S2 a watch too, only to see the trainwreck progressing further

Ishura was a wonderful fun filled mess. I'm okay with it just be a 50 episode semi-anthology series but season 2 really felt like it was building toward something. Its fun to see what constant intervention from isekai'd people and other powerful people can do to a world. Here's to hoping it continues though I have seen little evidence of that happening any time soon.
