It feels like the opposite for me, the chapters have been good but whenever it's a fight scene they end too quickly. Though this one wasn't too bad because it had a substantial body count and Ikaruga himself being a threat onscreen.

Don't get me wrong, a long-running complaint I've mentioned before was that it feels like the chapter get cut short right when the action starts, but with this one and maybe the previous one I didn't get that feeling at all even though this one especially literally does that. I think it's about having enough things happen in one chapter, like breaking away from the flashback a bit that creates a sense of progression.

It helps that the sci-fi zombie apocalypse is way more interesting than the fafrotskies, which felt like a minor inconvenience in comparison

I really didn't need the narrating text describing everything that I could very clearly see happening. I never would have guessed that he walked right past them or that she was furious

You don't need to read Summertime Rendering to understand this one. One character who was the focus of the spinoff manga also appears here, but these are very much two separate stories that simply share a common setting for the most part. Ghost Fixers is set way into the future and geographically far away from STR too.
