How does /a/ manage to maintain a level of quality far above the other media boards?

/a/ is the only major board I like. But every year it gets shittier. It used to be a place with a strong culture and a feeling of "us". It was my place, my home. But cancerous shitposting is getting increasingly more common. The threads I can retreat to are getting less common and less active. Soon it will be actually over.
