I can only imagine it's a pain to make a bunch of these already for a 2-3 minute animation, let alone an entire episode and core besides. I wouldn't mind an anime with 3D models rendered as fluidly as the in-game cutscenes, but that's probably even more expensive. The reason why CG anime tends to look like shit is because of the frame rate.
