Azumanga's (the show) reputation is inflated by 17 year olds with self-diagnosed personality disorders who learned about it 2 weeks ago on tiktok. Really it's just another mid J.C. staff adaptation.

I watched both of these when they came out about 20 years ago.

Lucky Star is still good to watch today even though some of the jokes feel dated.

I never watched AzuManga because it looked very boring even in the 2000s. It was one of those 4chan things I was too late for like Rozen Maiden since I got here in 2008.

Both are amazing shows
However Azumanga is a bit more open while Lucky Star relies more on references and cultural gimmicks of the time
The first is basically the birth giver to slice of life animes as we know them
While LuckStar remains as a gem from another time
