The whole Medieval Western Europe with elves and rolling d20 might be a novel setting for Japanese people even today, but in English speaking media it has been done to death, there is nothing that hasn't been explored in this genre. I think that is why there was so much interest around Dune recently, because it was fantasy that wasn't derived from Tolkien.
