I think part of the reason this arc isn't as enjoyable is the parties involved. The Sun Cult is ultimately ineffective despite their bravado and the Roars are an underdog bloodline that gets bullied by the OGs. It's jobbers vs jobbers, Ragna is busy being a battery, and we're only now seeing what Crimson's up to.
Compare to the Wings arc where the Silver Corps were easy to root for and felt cooler than the Sun Cult despite being much weaker, the Bloodline of Wings were the biggest threats we were aware of, and of course Ragna and Crimson were at the center of the action the whole time.
Koba being stuck introducing the new characters all at once is screwing with the pacing too, but it looks like shit's is finally happening this chapter.
