The thing with Tsuneki's route is that as a standalone show it could have worked, not all highschool romances suceed after all, the problem is that Seiren is part of the Amagami franchise, that people like because it's a cute romance show with few to no drama and zero stakes that people watch to feel good. Something like what they did with Tsuneki is not why people watch these kind of shows, it would be like if in Amagami Haruka would have rejected Junichi after everything he did to try to win over her and moved elsewhere to get dicked by other men, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth when all you want is a cute romcom.

As much of a meme as it is, it wasn't Tsuneko's fault that Seiren failed. The MC was shit. Compared to Junpei he was a spastic loser, Junpei was a million times more likable and better at genuinely getting girls.
