1st season was great, 2nd became more formulaic because they need to drag it out for longer. It is also more "for girls" than the first one.

IDK if anime is any different from the manga, but the manga is pretty damn bad. Mediocre mysteries written in a way that Maomao just somehow finds out the solution without there being a clear link as to how she managed to come to it. She just somehow arrives at conclusions, and it happens almost every time there's a new mystery to be solved. Everything else is kind of whatever and I don't really care about her and Jinshi's romance since I'm a guy. Women love this show a lot though, good for them I suppose

Shoushimin S2 exist, you faggot. Apothecary Diaries couldn’t even pull off simple dialogue without it sounding too anime. The cartoony jokes and weak mystery put this show at the bottom of the barrel.
