>>279941735That is true, every fight he's been in has been a curbstomp. He never actually had to fight smart compared to fight hard. Given the chapter's theme of Pride, breaking that down is the goal. Still, Luci is right: he really should know better than to just rush in headfirst.
>>279941740He's definitely in a dark place, but this feels like a different character all together. Feels like this is Asta from Black Clover than himself, and this is AFTER getting explicitly told Imuri will be fine, win or lose. Even in terms of how weird it would be to fight for something HE wants over the greater good or the power gap he knows he's handicapped against, I don't know why Lucifer is getting to his head so much.
His thought process just reads so weird and unlike himself just for the sake of the Pride theme. He's completely shocked Lucifer can use miracles or have stronger ones, despite being told *multiple times* about that. Even after seeing him REVIVE THE DEAD. I don't know why he's so boneheaded in this one fight.
>>279942082Aside from how he said himself he'll lose not from power but from a common understanding, I doubt his ego comes strictly from hot air. The Pride comes from believing he can fight against God's Plan, not that he's actually weak.
