However, it seems that it's more of a skill use and he just needs to properly balance and mix things both right now and when he fought Beelzebub he showed signs of channeling the Demon Lord's powers as well, and that managed to harm Lucifer just now.

Lucifer always been described as the prime archfiend, hence why people tend to just mix him with Satan in a lot of Christain mythos. He very much just an Archangel. As for Pride as a SIN, most authors have them be so STRONK like Selene Bradley because it is the sin the hardest to control. You can not eat like a fatass or not hoard money or not be a slut. But it is really hard to be humble, to not take pride in your own hype. Next to Wrath, it tend to be the most human emotion.

Also, it's pretty much just the angelic power. Priest-kun can win against Satan because he has angelic power and Satan needed to weaken him before fighting him. And Satan only wins against other demon lords because of the sword, otherwise he couldn't beat Leviathan (and Beelzebub seems to be pretty carefree about Satan's agenda but respects Lucifer a lot more). Lucifer wields angelic power, so he can win against Satan too.

Priest is probably in the worst state he's ever been in mentally in a long while, even though he's made a lot of progress mentally compared to when he first started. A lot of what gave Priest strength was fully accepting his ordained role in repelling the Demon Lords. Now that he's fighting for his own sake instead of God's and humanity's, his resolve's understandably a lot shakier.

It's more like Mob Psycho 100, but if Mob was conscripted into the Vatican and had to fight literal demon lords from Christian Hell on a regular basis. I'd say it's better because it's clearly following a plan, and there's so many threads between arcs you can connect when looking back on it. Meanwhile, CSM right now is kind of just bumbling around the place, even though it seems like we're gearing up towards the end.
(It also involves the MC getting groomed by older women, and I've heard some people praise this manga for that because it actually spends a whole arc revolving around this issue and how much it affects him, rather than just spamming the same encounter of Denji getting groomed a bunch of times like CSM does).
