almost anything after that god awful ending. It was so clear that Near had the authors dick in his mouth in that whole scene. The game was rigged from the start for the god of the new world.

>Light literally got saved by Shinigami Rem
If this is about the killing of L, i wouldnt say she saved him. Rem didnt do it to save light, she did it to save Misa. Light manipulated her into a position where she had to kill L.
>Light wasn't that strong to begin with
Mentally? Only behind L. Physically? Probably stronger than near. My issue with the ending is that it just seemed unreasonable

>who cares, the result is the same
The point isnt the result, its what caused it. Lights actions resulted in himself getting saved rather than rems good will.
>to save himself from getting caught
Excellent observation retard. Yes, Light does not want to get caught.

Yeah, a lot. It's pretty easy to do, as long as the main character survives it's automatically a better story.

why did Light manipulate Rem?
obviously it wasn't to save Misa, it's to save himself from L

The whole thing with death note owners losing their memory when not being owners is so contrived to fit into the story it really hurts the narrative.

You're talking about a shinigami dying if they purposefully extend a human's life? Because I liked how Ryuk chose whether or not to help Light, and Rem was going to help him kill L, at least before Misa got caught and put in L's favorite gimp outfit.

if Ryuk chooses to save Light by killing all Light's enemies using his Shinigami eyes then there would be no plot
that's why that rule existed in the first place

The main problem is that Death Note collapses in on itself and only gets worse and worse. It would've worked better if it was cut short.

Stuff like Code Geass, One Outs, Akagi, Kaiji, Monster, Pluto, Parasyte, etc. are all more consistently better.
Death Note relies almost entirely on the great start.

Not really.

Light had the author mindrape everyone into bumbling retards. Realistically speaking Misa would have never been in a position to kill again, Misa would have seen what killing again would mean (not after lobotomy I guess) and L would have had tons of contingency plans after showing his face to the actual proven 2nd Kira who he let go for some stupid reason.

Death Note has bad writing

Yes. I have never in my life encoutered a single story where the main character dies that has been enjoyable. Even if I enjoyed it before that moment, it's impossible to enjoy after that moment. The protagonist dying ruins a story that otherwise could have been enjoyable, ergo, killing the protagonist is bad writing.

I haven't read that story so I can't say for certain, but any story where the main character or some other significant character I've liked has died has been absolutely terrible. And I'm not talking about passing away of old age surrounded by all your loved ones, I'm talking about sudden death, sacrifice or some other kind of bitter garbage that drowns any sweetness that could otherwise be had.

There've been many objectively better anime for decades prior to Madhouse adapting Death Note, but there are few that beat it at its own games. To mind come LoGH, Monster, and Kaiji.

A prime example of a story that I absolutely hated. What's next, Gunslinger Girl?
