Ehhhh, it's kind of annoying seeing the Japanese exceptionalism contrasted with the flawed western governance like in Full Metal Alchemist and there's always a "we have a unique way of doing things over here" thing like KI is for example.
I know there's different points in history where different cultures were more or less powerful, but it feels obligatory since it's a manga and it might be paid for out of the "Cool Japan" fund.

A common thread with the demons was that they (and their followers) worked fuck all for the power they possessed. Lucifero was strong on paper, but like Dante he could die to bad matchup + skill checks. Devils also don't really plan for or think about getting stronger.
Most of the NotJapan characters all seem to be pure natty work for their power. Something like Zetten appears to actually need training and you can't just shit out counterable magic to win.

What do you think about Yuno defeating offscreen various high ranking devils just last arc ù, when originally one of them was a boss who required Licht, Lumiere and many others? The problem is exarcebated, as I was saying before, by how unilateral the fights to present new characters are, like Zenon soloing the Golden Dawn, with them being just a burden for Vangeance, wich means when Yuno then fight a stronger Zenon and wins this means an enormous jump in quality.

Because this is hand to hand combat with ki reading, there's nothing for Asta to negate or home into, and his use of ki is still basic. Ichika parries his moves and that's it. The twins were throwing magic around, antimagic negates it, that's that. The conditions for both fights are different, so I don't see the point in comparing them as if Ichika is somehow stronger than the twins. Early on Gauche could reflect Patry's ultimate light attack, does this mean he had more magic power or was overall stronger than Patry? Not really, but his attribute let him do that. It's not that different from Asta's devil union countering the twins, or Ichika's technique being better than Asta's.

I was talking the difference between the fights, I aknowledged that Zagred had circumstances that gave him the advantage, but it's hard to say how much, as he used his demon language only for the magic absorbing spell and his trident, also yes, it's obviouslyreally important, Asta would have never won without Nacht (wich is one of my favorite things in Black clover, how many fights are won through teamwork), but those two went humiliatingly badly.
