What is your gross tolerance?
How nasty does a female character have to be for you to be completely turned off by her?

I wouldn't say a character necessarily loses my interest if she's gross so much as if she's realistic since real women are just goddamn awful to have to deal with.

IRL, men's grossness tolerances FAR exceed what women tolerate (in public, closed doors females are NASTY as fuck). I mean men have crusty socks and fungi growing in their rooms as "worst case" examples of male living standards. Worst case for female rooms has just been clothes all over the floor. Well, hoarder homes are pretty god damn rank, but those are lardasses most of the time.
