Can we all just admit that One Piece is mid and that Naruto has more profound themes?

Both One Piece and Naruto are horrible. If you cannot end your story without dragging it out meaninglessly then you are a bad author.

Naruto was not "dragged out meaninglessly" most people just don't understand the significance of Madara and Zetsu and Kaguya to the lore. Both series are plagued by critiques from people who haven't even read or watched the whole thing and that leads to baseless criticism. The only difference is the war arc actually ties up numerous details of Naruto lore while One Piece does in-fact jump the shark at the time skip.

Naruto is profound in its discussion of politics, friendship and family, but more than that, certain aspects like Pain, Itachi, Obito, the Tsukuyomi, these elements deal with metaphysical and spiritually profound themes.

It's a bunch of poorly written wank which pretends to be deep because it wants to be, not because it actually is.

No theme is inherently profound. Depth is a matter of execution. And in that sense both Naruto and One Piece are superficial.
