It's true. I didn't know it at the time, but I have resented this world since a very young age, and that mindset led to decision making that was both actively harmful and neglectful, turning me into a very ugly and sickly person over time. Being ugly does irreparably harm how people live though. There's been more than a few studies on the halo effect and how ugly people, especially ugly women, don't get hired, get paid/promoted less when they do, and get worse evaluations across the board regardless of actual performance. It's not just overall character, but intelligence, responsibility, agreeability, etc.
It's worth looking into imo, there's some interesting stuff out there on it. The association is consistently way stronger than you'd expect and looks completely different between blind evaluations and ones biased by attractiveness.
