yes, it's a very focused manga, there's almost nothing superfluous in it
if it was written today we would already have some unnecessary sequel and the manga would have double the amount of volumes
with an obligatory shitty card and/or gacha game
the author had a very clear idea of what the story should be about it stays true to that message and it's solid all around
I'm not really fond of the characters, but that's a me thing, they all have motivations that are relatable and fit in with the rest of the story
I think FMA is the poster boy for consistency
