watched it a few months ago and to be honest, frieren has made it hard for me to go back to enjoying "normal" anime.

i get bored instantly trying to get into new seasonals or "classic" shows like eva. the character development, the emotions, and the worldbuilding are just never up to par. it's like going back to games you played as a kid and realizing how shallow they are compared to the stuff for adults. it's honestly depressing

has anyone else experienced this? what should i watch next?

This is probably bait, but anyway....
Frieren is nothing special, and even anime is not.
Its just the old formula - a bit of action, a bit of drama/romance/sentimentality and sufficiently hot women packed together in an interesting storyline.
Western media has in the last 20 years refused to run a female protagonist that isn't an insufferable bitch or a complete Mary Sue or both.
Anime is also cheaper to produce than live action, so the producers can still have a bit more courage.
Just try something - there are even websites that offer you tips like "if you liked Frieren, you'll probably enjoy this" - and chances are good that some of them are better than the autis elf show.

5 years is not staying power. I could see Frieren being popular for a while, especially because zoomers will feel nostalgic towards it. But later generations probably won't care that much.
