One thing Murata never did was how Garou's hair changes. His V hair starts to get longer and solidify, and more and more looking like horns until we reach his main form. Psykos has been mentioning the 'chosen ones' which is interesting. I see it going two ways. The first is that it just refers to serious misanthropes a la homeless emperor. In this case it gets tied to the god plot. The second is that it refers to espers, which ties into the psychic sisters, who were adopted for some reason, and the elevens. I am of the opinion that ONE should've killed off a few heroes by this point, especially the ones with less lore behind them or has served their arcs. Most of them were introduced as gag characters and just hogs panel time now that the gag is up and the story takes a serious turn.

Awakened Garou works on so many levels partially because it is the antithesis of Saitama's design. Archetypical bad guy complete with the horns and the darkness (that can be described as more of a substance devoid of light), against the hyper-simplified yet also difficult to capture archetypical superhero. They bounce off of each other really well. Most OPM characters are each other's direct counterparts, but one of ONE's best in this regard is how he pulled it off with Awakened Garou and Saitama.

Awakened Garou is ONE's artistic accomplishment in how he managed to give it both a clearly defined look while making it appear shadowy enough for people to see their idealised monstrous figure within it.

Is anyone else feeling a little overwhelmed by how quickly the plot moves in the webcomic? It's incredible how painfully slow the entire arc is in the manga.

I quickly adjusted back when I was first reading it almost a decade ago, but the contrast is very drastic, yeah. You could call ONE's pacing for the webcomic over-optimised. Quite well-suited in current times when you're reading new chapters as they drop between months of waiting, but it proves an unending onslaught of progression only really slowed by the jumping between multiple perspectives.

I actually like it. The part where Garou appears is supposed to be like 1 hour after the operation began. The entire thing its supposed to be a quick, easy operation in which everything goes wrong very fast and that's what's happening right now.

King was facing up against 4 enemies? Actually he just bought like 2 minutes of time which was enough for some of the heroes to surface and win the upper hand. The heroes are gaining their footing? Fuck you, Evil Natural Water fucks them. Tatsumaki barely manages to blow ENW away? Black Sperm takes a hostage and Golden Sperm is born with a blast, bitch. You think Golden Sperm was the worst thing to happen? Nope, Garou just arrived.

The alternative would've been everyone doing orderly 1v1 fights in which the rest is just standing around watching and commenting the action. Here everyone is participating and what's more, it's easy to follow where is everyone.
