I didn't watch the 2nd or 3rd season, but I heard that the second one was especially bad because it focused on the worst arc or something like that, and had bad production value as well.
What's the fourth season going to tackle? Will it be interesting, or will it still focus on the other useless heroes that Takafumi or whatshisname has to babysit?

This lost all momentum when Malty stopped being the antagonist. Throughout the whole story, she should have just kept getting more and more political power as she assassinated/ruined opponents and weaponized simps before ultimately usurping the big bad.

The way that they dealt with her wasn't even satisfying.

i read the WN a long while ago, there's so much filler added to the LN which passed on to the manga and now the anime it's unreal.
Like, when the fuck are they going to fight Kirin? They also ruined the spirit turtle fight with the bullshit about the evil alchemist and shit, I remember that was a hype as fuck moment in the WN as he had to finish the turtle off with a gigantic blutopfer, and now they're going around more countries and more dimensions full with a bunch of literal whos

To be honest, I don't get why I liked this show outside the initial rape accusation that went nowhere.
Almost everything about this show feels generic, despite the decent production.

I was ultra hooked by the first few episodes, enough to read most of the LNs a while back. I got up to around where this season will end with the romp through Raphtalialand and the eventual clusterfuck with whatever the phoenix, and the cook off (kinda forget where the last one takes place). Eventually I ran out of hope that it was going to get good again, or at least give me some red meat with the waves, some world building beyond "this country also now worships Naofumi", or cut back on the stupid harem dynamic that couldn't be more out of place.

Remember Golden Sun? How in those games, especially the third one, all your party members had to get a word in and you just ended up with heaps of meaningless "hm so that's how it is" comments? It started to feel like that with the cast bloat. Sword and Bow contribute nothing to the story or even the direction of the village, they are basically just pets for their girlfriends. It's so unbelievably boring and such shameless harem pandering for so long that when it does try to be edgy again out of nowhere, it comes off as genuine cringe. That train left the station ten volumes ago.

This series badly needed to end at the 4th episode, leaving things being open-ended about how Naofumi and Raphtalia would survive and make the most of the new lives they have given each other. At absolute latest it needed to end with Malty's trial and serious consequences for the princess not some dumb middle schooler nickname revenge fantasy.

I enjoyed the 1st season, but the 2nd season was boring as hell that I no longer has any interest in the series.
Guess this is just like Blue Exorcist. They're somehow still making new one even though nobody cares anymore.

The setup to s4 makes it look like it's going to be entirely Raphtalia focused. I'm excited to see her take over not-japan. I've given up on ever seeing the main plot resume though.
