This. FMA is well rounded. Not the most gripping or brilliant series ever, but also hard to criticize that much. Fun characters and a solid story that didn't drag much, with an ending that was actually pretty good for a shonen. Also the final exchange between Truth and the Dwarf is especially kino if you're theologically inclined.

In that sense it reminds me a lot of KNY, except that KNY has higher points in two cases: the ending (not the final arc, but the ending) and the Kokushibo/Yorฤซchi story, but everything else is between acceptable and good.
