CR and Netflix are basically about to release the entire plot of Conan this week as a selection of specific episodes from the 1000+ episode anime in an attempt to start over with the anime's branding in America. Would this be more of an incentive for you to watch the series?

No because the "plot" of this show was never good.

I enjoyed the golden week movies more than the episodes

It's a good place to start for people scared by the episode count. They should read the manga instead though.

Conan isn't a good manga at all when you really get deep into reading it. Kindaichi is far superior.

Not a chance, but that is something I've wondered about the manga instead years ago.
If you filled a corkboard connecting all the recurring elements, info, or characters between chapters/cases (minus ever presents like Conan/Kogoro/the sleep dart/the police etc), what % of the series is left orphaned with no connection to chapter 1.

That is... That is actually what I always wanted ever since I lost touch with Conan 20 years ago!

Holy shit, the anime industry started using its brain for once!

I don't even care about a new english dub, I'm watching the whole thing in german, I just want to know what isn't filler.

Just go through the list in the link and cross out anything that is "tv original" in the "manga source" column. In "plot" column you can see symbols for what exactly to expect.

I've been saying they needed to do this for years. I even made threads on /a/ about some condensed version.

Always gotta piggyback off of Conan threads though.

It's his style, he already piggybacks off of Kindaichi Kosuke books.

At this point just admit it. There is no plot, time barely progresses
How many cases they solve a year?

There's no plot in Conan, otherwise it wont be as long as it is, all you get is dropped plot points and nothingburgers

Watching DC for the plot is like trying to watch the entirety of the Pokemon series to see Ash become a pokemon master.
Baiting people into episodic crap under false pretenses is a certified hebrew maneuver.

What I can give Kindaichi over Conan is that they were at least honest about the series having no real plot, it was just different murder mystery cases split into different arcs and it holds up better because of that, the 90s anime had a pretty good soundtrack as well:

This is retarded.
Conan works best when it's dealing with non-plot cases in isolated locations. It's perfect for bingeing 3-4 episodes as a film.

Everyone who brings up "muh plot" completely misses the appeal of Conan. The minimal plot stuff is just what's meant to keep you coming back to a weekly detective series.

But for that it would be better if Conan was an actual kid trying to hide that he is a genius, and not a shrunken Shinichi, cause then there wouldn't be 30+ years of mystery around BO and Ran waiting for her boyfriend. People will inevitably want to see these two things resolved, so they can move on with their lives.
A weekly detective series just needs decent cases for people to keep coming back.

I do find it funny that it's the series without an overarching plot that has actual time progression.
