The idea of productivity is a concept forced down upon us by our goverments and society at large so we conform to their ideals, to shape us and make us do what they want us to do for their benefit. There isn't a sacred texts of truth and objectivity that demands for anyone to be useful, or that every action demands to be useful to someone else or world at large.
So, I don't think the question really matters. What matters really is if your actions don't harm someone else. That's where I draw the line.
Yes, it's nice to support your society and help the world spin. But it's not the worst thing in the world not to make that your life goal or your objective, you're not a piece of shit for being worthless, so watching anime all day is okay. Being worthless is fine. It's your life, yo udecide what you do with it, it's only a problem if your life affects others negatively.
