Why is it that cosplaytards and movie prop departments almost never get anime hair color right? They don't seem to understand that you can't just directly grab the exact color from a cartoon and slap it on a wig. It's always way too saturated, making it look extremely artificial.
Just desaturate it, make it slightly more dull, and add some texture/gradience, it would look way more like real hair.

I get the impression that nine tenths of the "ugliness" people ITT are talking about is just the exaggerated facial expressions they're making. For what it's worth they do have a practical purpose in theater stuff since people further from the stage won't be able to see more subtle/realistic acting, but it does have the disadvantage of making them look kind of uncanny.
