it's gay because anyone who has ever thought about anything knows solving problems (intelligence is just ability to solve problems) doesn't scale linearly with precision. difficult problems are difficult almost always because the original idea was wrong either in an unforeseen or too obvious to be seen kind of way.
bean counting is orthogonal. in other words: there should be different kinds of smart characters with ridiculous precision being one of them, but it's always bean counting.
in this case yoneda was even bean counting about a specific guy he didn't care about. why would he do that? is it smart to expend memory or brainpower on things you don't care about? what benefit is it to do that for every single person you've ever met? these obvious problems are never answered.
these mean a disconnect with the world/author. they may as well have replaced every speech bubble with a picture of a butthole.
