I never bothered watching 4 onwards because the creator died. Just had to take one look at the jokers left in charge and I knew it would end up being a train wreck. It’s a shame because it was kinda starting to become competent with part 3.

Shame that Monty Oum died. Even today the choreography here is better than 99% of those stupidly overanimated fight scenes in anime today. The West had alot of amateur talent back then in the early 2010s, shame it was never cultivated beyond that and ultimately the Chinese moved in that position instead.

I agree, first three seasons are pure soul. Monty was a genius with a singular understanding of cool and it shines through the jank 3d models and shaky voice acting.
They could hire hundreds of animators after he died and hand them industry standard tools and yet all they produced was fucking ass
