Correct. And in less than 10 years nobody will be able to tell the difference between AI or human-made or care.

True. And it will look somewhat worse than what we're used to. But it will be cheap and fast to produce. Acceptance will be high. This is what AI will do to all professions.

People do not care now.
Only a very vocal, very minor minority.

There are already entire strands of digital culture forming themselves around the idea that there is no difference. There are people all over the internet right now who think that it's some kind of TRVKE moment to say that art never mattered and that thought is nothing more than a meat machine that AI can mimic. These people will die in a cage they built for us after killing us for not wanting to live in it then wonder why they're miserable.

I'll personally generate a Haruhi season 3 from the books if Kadokawa doesn't get their shit together in the next decade.

You're living a delusional reality.

Try making an AI thread on the catalog right now and /a/ will dogpile on you like a swarm of angry piranhas.

Anon said AI acceptance will happen in less than 10 years, not right now. People always say "that's cheating" with animation until the results are good enough. Rotoscoping and live reference is cheating until you get used to it. Using computers is cheating until you get used to it. 3D models mixed with 2D is cheating until you get used to it. Same with AI. People don't care as much as you think.

>People don't care as much as you think.
People don't care *at all* as a whole.
And it's not even close.
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but in the last months there has been unironically over a trillion views on pure AI content across social media.
Is it good content? No, but is it sufficient. 99% of people can't even tell the latest stuff is AI anyway unless it looks like something that would be top of the line CGI from a Hollywood movie(and even then, they can't tell that it's AI vs human-crafted CGI anyway)
There's no fighting it.
If people want to be some niche hipster anti-AI person they can do that, but no one will ever give a shit. Nor notice when their already CGI infested anime gradually adapts more and more AI techniques.
If things goes well it could actually mean we get more great stories.
If 1% of anime is decent, but we get 10x more produced, and storytellers can take more risks with their material, it could easily mean we end up with 2-10x more good content to enjoy.
Even a bad scenario is still twice as many good shows.

what's with the AI shills coming to /a/ when they don't even like anime to begin with?

Why does that make you think I don't like anime?
I have easily consumed some five-figure hour amount of anime.
Part of that is from rewatching series I love over and and over again though admittedly.
But even just counting individual series by cour and movies, I'd be really surprised if I wasn't in some upper percentile.
And what do I have to 'shill' anyway? It's just fucking reality.

Also adding to this that I'm not OP, and don't believe I've ever had any kind of discussion about AI on /a/...since maybe like 2 years ago when it couldn't draw hands and I admittedly laughed at the people doubting that it would ever be able to.
If there's some 'AI schizo' or whatever who frequent posts, it's not me.
I don't have any stake in AI. Actually I've lost virtually every casual online freelance source of income I had to it in the last little while myself. But truth exists independently of feelings.
If I could snap my fingers and delay it by 10 years or something, I would. But I can't

the shit tons of archived anime following ancient storylines will be collectible and to a point tradeable, trophiable media that you would be unable to fully digest (and to what point with who would you share the passion?) with in the three quarters of life you would at max have available free for it

i mean shit, complaining that clocks clock is....retarded lol

Also, the 1% was just an arbitrary number to illustrate my point.
If there's 10000 series, and 100(1%) of them are decent.
And then the financial constrains get lowered signifgantly and we end up with 100000 series, then even in bad scenarios where the average series is worse, we'd likely end up with more decent total series.
And in a great scenario where writers creativity is unleashed and they're able to explore themes and ideas that 'won't sell' by today's standards(thus don't get funded), we could end up with hundreds, thousands of great new series.
The hardest part will be curation and finding the right social circles of curators that will share tastes and discover the what one would consider subjectively the 'best' titles/series.
That already happens now anyway, I mean it's part of the reason I'm on here hoping to find or avoid things that I don't think I'd enjoy. And it's always been that way. Nothing will really change much in that sense.

Anime has been killing itself for the past 10 years, at this point it would be a mercy killing.
