I can't even stand how the best girl loses 99% of the time.
Oregairu? The annoying flattie wins.
Nisekoi? Marika the goddess and Onodera loses while the bland American wins.
Ranma 1/2? Fuck Akane.
It should be illegal to not make what if Ovas.

you're selfish, you want your favorite love interest to win, while romance is about meaning, taking the loss and the win for what it is.

in some works like Shounen no Abyss, a love interest losing makes them even more charming in my eyes.

The point of watching romcom is to watch cute girls blushing and ending up in embarrassing situations.
Actually, the fact that there are multiple girls should be giant hunt this is not about actual relationships at all. Starting a relationship would end the entire premise and point of the manga. There's only going to be a conclusion when it's axed. Or maybe never, because any conclusion might anger fans of the other girls.

Romcoms have made me increasingly jaded.
The last time I enjoyed a Onsen chapter was in a cute Adaptation that ended all of sudden after 10 chapters, because it was plot relevant and brought the characters closer.

Why have the characters fall in love with each other from the start if it takes years before they get together.
There are also times where I wish Romance wasn't a thing, where it feels inserted as a way to try and extend the audience.

The objective of these shows is not to daydream about other people dating each other but to daydream about dating an anime girl. Thats the only reason there is a losing girl, because several girls have been added so that more people will have something they’ll like from the show. The MC drives the plot but he doesn’t have such a commanding presence that he’s going to interrupt your daydream or make it feel unnatural to mentally discard him. To this end, having the MC hold your hand through every single fucking part of the fantasy by chapter 10 provides diminishing returns, as opposed to showing you as much of the girls as possible.

Watch shoujo KINO instead of romcom trash for otaku subhumans.
