Gotta say it would be very easy to subvert this trend by having the mc be booted from the heroes party. instead of them not knowing how to tie there shoes with mc gone they just replace him like a lead vocalist or guitarist in a band and they're doing fine even better actually.

I've read like two versions where the plot twist is that the MC is kicked out of the party to protect him and his companions are really nice guys, and another where the Party loves the MC but it is by order of a king that he is removed from the hero party for being the weakest, the plot twist is that the party did not follow the MC because of his strength, but because he was intelligent and charismatic to negotiate and manage the group's money while they did the physical work, when he leaves everything goes to shit.

There is good decent subversion of this trope and it's Tsuihousareru Tabi ni Skill wo Te ni Ireta Ore ga, 100 no Isekai de 2-shuume Musou. It's also the only good shoelacer.

It's not something I'm going to call a genre, but it seems to be a power fantasy focused on a market of Japanese employees/students with a strong resentment for not being recognized for their skills or work.

It reminds me of that childhood thought: when your parents scolded you, you thought about running away from home, thinking it would make them regret scolding you, like that episode with Bart running away on Thanksgiving.

Something I can't stand about those mangas is seeing an OP character allow themselves to be trampled on by a nobody, despite being aware of their superiority. It's tolerable if they try to remain incognito, but in most cases, the MC behaves like a pussy.

I've seen a couple stories where the MC is immeditely very strong but can't get any stronger so his role is pretty much to powerlevel the hero's party and leave once they're stronger than him.
It's like he's born at level 30 and capped to 60 while other people are born at level 1 and capped to 100.

I have to admit that this is one of the few mangas where I feel like an elf actually behaves like an elf. Tia acts childish at first glance, but in reality, it's like watching an adult playing with very young children. She speaks to them in a way that's easy for them to understand and makes decisions for them since she doesn't consider them mature enough to understand. It's only in small, serious moments that you can see the elderly creature she truly is. The MC himself realizes that the first time he met her, she saw him as a baby who needed to be protected, and that's why she created a ruse to expel him. Now, in this second life, with him mentally a 100-year-old man, the relationship begins to be different. It's a shame the author didn't give the MC elderly habits to reflect this.

Generally, in other anime/manga, elves only behave like teenagers despite being hundreds or thousands of years old, but they rarely show the wisdom of living so long; they're just another token for the harem.

You know, the odd thing is that I recall one of the 'pioneers' of the genre was the Hero kicking two guys out of his party to replace them with hot women. However, the Hero was so ridiculously powerful (we see him getting a lap pillow in HELL) that he honestly didn't need the two guys with him anyway.

I know it's /v/, but I hate games that encourage that. Was playing Total War: Wahammer III earlier and it makes no sense that I can't upgrade my experienced swordsmen into greatswords.
We could have been spared this horrible sub-genre of isekai if devs weren't stupid.
