>The number of new anime released per year has been steadily increasing, with an average of 300 anime produced per year between 2010 and 2020, and estimates suggesting it could reach 500 by 2030, according to mipon.org.

How do you select what to watch?

The vast majority of it is garbage not worth watching, and I doubt that's going to change any time soon. The quality has just gotten worse over the past 20 years.

Don't watch adaptations. They aren't proper anime.

I don't think that will happen. There is a limit to what can be aired on television and I don't think anime is ready to bridge that gap from TV to streaming in only the next 5 years.
>>280286711
questionable. If you look at the current season it feels like we are in the early 2010s again production-wise at least.

I don't think it's increasing so much if you count total episodes.
There aren't that many new studios and there are more titles because everything's 1 cour and gets dropped for the next 1 cour show next season.

I wait for most of the series of the season to be in their second to third episode and then see what /a/ and sakugafag twitter likes, from that selection I pick like 3 to give a watch and usually drop one or two.
This season I'm interested in Yofukashi no Uta S2 (I like Itamura but S1 was stylish but empty), Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku (Akebi was a fantastic and it seems to be the same staff behind this), Seishun Buta Yarou wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai (the latest movies were some of the worst anime I've seen, but I'm in too deep now, so maybe), Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu and Takopii no Genzai (both seem very well produced from what I've seen).

>How do you select what to watch?
Get used to the high output because AI slop is going to only increase with time.
I usually go by what is generally considered worth watching AND funny. The last series I watched was Dandadan and it was very good. I haven't watched anything since. I just do not have the time to waste. I will even ask AI what is like a few series I like and out recently, that is how I came to watch Dandadan. I will now wait a year and then ask again.

I laughed a lot during the show, that was worth my time. Your leftist vapid personality is not my prob. You can now not name a funnier show that has since aired proving my point about my methods and your horrible diagnosis.

I unintentionally wait for the saturation point of an anime to become so great that I basically feel like I've seen and read an episodes worth of content without having seen it at all to finally sit down and try the series. Usually I still end up only making it a few episodes in before giving up. Otherwise, I will watch an anime if I've read the manga of it and liked it. That's basically the only two ways

That’s right. In fact, unlike the production companies, many Japanese fans don’t actually want anime to become globally popular. We’d be happy if everyone found a new hobby and stopped watching anime.
