Millenials loved anime as kids, surprisingly zoomers also love anime. Now it's more available than ever and the bulk of the media consuming population is generations who grew up loving anime and continue to love anime. Meanwhile, comics infrastructure is largely broken and comics are being used as content for films and televisions while western cartoons are being defunded if they aren't a kids film or adult show made for streaming.

Not surprising that anime is at peak domination. It was a long time coming with no real competition save video games and social media but even then it's grounds for cross-pollination

I think what I'm saying is pretty realistic, considering it isn't just anime that is running into this problem right now. In 2014 there wasn't that many people online and every year more and more people would get online increasing numbers across the board, that isn't really happening any more and so now there isn't any easy method to trick investors into believing a ton of money will magically appear, because a cap on potential audience is going to be set at one point or another.
