No. Maybe for novelty projects, or digital will become good at replicating the look.

It was expensive and annoying to make. I doubt anybody in the industry wants to deal with that mess again.

not really. it's kinda like how film has been basically replaced by digital for live action. you cannot compete with cheaper technology as far as commercial products are concerned.

Will this happen? No, because that's not what the majority of the audience wants, it would be akin to release an anime made to look like the 1963 version of Astro Boy in 1983, while Macross was airing, who would watch it?
