Ao has a moving reunion with Ai, who has finally awoken. Everyone from the youth's group comes to celebrate, and a relieved Ao falls asleep... but just as Ai has awoken, Ao continues to sleep without waking.
Hairi visits the clinic and waits with Ai for Ao to awaken. He collects the Shichieichous in Ao's place... When Hairi sees that most of the tachibana blossoms on the sacred tree have fallen, he realizes that the end of summer is approaching.

the arc was the best but the ending was a failure. it's my favorite ending in the VN of all the 10 routes but in the anime it fell flat and is my least favorite episode.
the only moment where I felt emotional for a second was in the ending montage, but that was cut short to rush to the final CG which ruined everything. it's likely they could've salvaged the ending if they had skipped the OP and made the montage longer, but I guess they couldn't because of budget constraints or something?

This really hurt Ao's route for me in the LN, I think the ending would've work much better if Ao's butterfly somehow returns by some miracle and he manage to wake her right there, the way it went down it turned an emotional climax into something that felt too methodical, just wait one year to follow the steps to wake her up instead of a do or die moment, I get that they wanted the conclusion to each route to play after the credits are over but it really didn't worked on this route

He went there on the weekends, not much of a sacrifice, and it wasn't that what woke her up it was following the same method they already used to wake up Ai so he already had proof it would work, the whole thing just felt very anticlimactic after the scene at the groove

It's ok, better than most vn adaptations.
2 cours for a 60h vn is the bare minimum for it to not come out as a complete disaster, but it's not enough so a lot of the buildup content gets cut which makes the emotional scenes fall flat. The budget is on the lower scale so animation quality also can't make up for it.
If you are interested, read the vn. It's comfy and it's slower pace fits this kind of story much better.

I don't think it could be done much better other than by having a larger budget to improve the animation, skip OPs in more episodes and maybe add 1 extra episode each to Tsumugi and Ao (half of the extra Ao episode could be SoL with Ryouichi and Tenzen)

@yukisaki_yuuka_sub cried the hardest so far at the Ao finale than any other ep. the episode is almost not disappointing if you watch it with her.

Honestly, just like Little Busters, the true ending is quite weak. The most interesting part of both works is unraveling the mystery like why certain characters behave the way they do, why the ending is even possible, and how the "world" even works
