I also liked how the start of the show had the main character utterly fail her music career. Even if it only happened at the start of the show, I can't remember that many shows actually having a character's career failing (other than the "club is going to shut down" shit, but that's not a career).
I was also surprised by the lack of yuribaiting. Most shows would have heavy yuribaiting but, if Extreme Hearts did have any, it was extremely light. I enjoyed that aspect of the show since I find shows with yuribaiting stuff to have the characters be way too overly attached with another character to the point where it'd annoy me (eg. the first season of Uma Musume having characters being retardedly obsessed with a different character). Though in retrospect, maybe that's why not many people watched it, since that's 90% of the reason why a lot of people watch these all-girls idol shows.
