The world wasn't ready for sports idols.

Extreme Hearts thread? In 2025?
Is there some news or did you just feel like it?
Thr anime was cheap but I still remember it fondly.

Nothing wrong with appreciating some exit-level anime every now and again. Maybe we can have an Ange Vierge thread next.

The sports were the worst part of this show. Should have just been a cgdct or something.

Around that time of the show airing, I would watch various different idol shows but drop them around halfway through due to being bored by them, but I was entertained by Extreme Hearts, so there's that.
I also liked how the start of the show had the main character utterly fail her music career. Even if it only happened at the start of the show, I can't remember that many shows actually having a character's career failing (other than the "club is going to shut down" shit, but that's not a career).
I was also surprised by the lack of yuribaiting. Most shows would have heavy yuribaiting but, if Extreme Hearts did have any, it was extremely light. I enjoyed that aspect of the show since I find shows with yuribaiting stuff to have the characters be way too overly attached with another character to the point where it'd annoy me (eg. the first season of Uma Musume having characters being retardedly obsessed with a different character). Though in retrospect, maybe that's why not many people watched it, since that's 90% of the reason why a lot of people watch these all-girls idol shows.

I liked that she just blew through the injury instead of just exiting the game like they do in most sports anime. It felt very unique for a genre that gets pretty samey in general

There are actually just 3 characters depicted there, not 9.
