PA Works can't into yuribait. Granted that Aquatope made it abundantly clear that the girls were not gay and only thought of each other as a friend, but some stuff in the beginning could have baited yurifags into believing otherwise.
Mayopan and Narenare had more blatant yuribait that went nowhere and flopped even harder.
HibiMeshi had no bait whatsoever despite not having male characters and it was a success.
It's obvious what kind of stuff this studio is good at.

When watching I actually did get the impression from Kuuya's (blonde) backstory that he was gay and outed by that girl he turned down and friends, hence why he dropped out and was closed off to women. Subtext was there, at least, even if it got subverted by him eventually easing up around Kaoru near the end.

This show was so weird. It felt like they wanted to write yuri, but were only allowed to write one-sided het romantic feelings to make the bond of the girls stronger and more meaningful in comparison. It was a weird type of love triangle where they avoided the portrayal of explicit yuri winning against het.
