Why is it so hard to find adult-targeted anime that has:

>A broad, interesting premise
>A cast of interesting characters that bounce off each other well
>An interesting cast of bad guys
>Visually flashy action
>A good balance of humor/action/drama
>A willingness to lean into dumb bullshit

Almost all the stuff like this is aimed at kids/teenagers, where's the stuff for adults that isn't a gorefest, CGDCT, porn, or misery porn?

What would aiming the same thing at adults accomplish? Name a show that you think would actually have a more interesting narrative if they made it more "adult" and how would you accomplish that.
