Personally, I think this episode would have been better if they spent less time on the crossdressing and more time having the guys interact with the girls. Like after they suggested the plan it should have cut straight to them in Alicepia.

It's like inverse Symphogear so far. It's 90% slice of life stuff with 3-4 minutes of fighting with a song max for most episodes.
To paraphrase one of the characters "We're here to have fun first and be Princesses second."
I do like it though it doesn't scratch the same itch that Symphogear did for me personally. My previous experience with 50 episode kids shows is that the real Kino stuff is in the second half so I'm sticking it out.

The songs are pretty good and the finishers are neat. The action parts are definitely not as good as the Symphogear ones so far but there are a couple good sequences. The first episode is probably the most Symphogear like

The show has songs while fighting and good ideas, but cannot be compared to Symphogear or Revue Starlight. It is airing on Sunday mornings, a timeslot notoriously aimed at kids.

Not really. It's more like if Precure decided to have Symphogear-like fights, and overall it's closer to Precure than it is to Symphogear. I'm still enjoying it a lot though. Like the other anon said, the 2nd half is probably where things will pick up.
