Nice, i wanted to bring up this question i had regarding the Anime. Why do you think Trigger decided to introduce a school of non-magical boys? Shouldn't it be more than obvious to add mages, considering the setting? The 2015 Manga did it, yet the Anime only introduced a mage in the final episode. I genuinely don't understand their thought process

The 2015 manga is not canon, and Trigger gave the publisher a lot of creative freedom to create the manga. That's why some details that appear in the manga aren't seen in the 2017 anime. However, many ideas that appeared in the 2017 anime come from that shojo manga, such as Akko's Metamorphosis Magic to transform into a mouse and her bunny ears, for example.

Well the plot of the show revolved around the fact that magic was dying or something so introducing a school of boys who don't believe in or just don't like magic was to reinforce that I think. I haven't bothered to rewatch the series since it aired so take what I say with a big heap of salt.

Well, knowing that Trigger also confirmed the existence of wizards, even in this forum, I suppose that perhaps a wizarding school is a far cry from Luna Nova, a wizarding school that respects the custom of magic just like witches, except that they don't touch on that subject much in the anime, and the only young wizard that could be seen is the one from the 2015 manga.

Well, for starters, Yoh and some of the team wanted to give Akko a love interest, which is the main reason for the boys’ existence in the story. Since the show’s themes revolve around believing in oneself and challenging preconceived notions, I think they figured that introducing a group of non-magical guys from a school that doesn’t believe in magic and even looks down on witches would be the best way to challenge Akko’s beliefs and, in turn, help her grow. It was more about challenging Akko’s dreams at the end of the day. If a S2 ever happens, i could see them introducing multiple schools with boys, Harry Potter style.
