Maybe it would make sense if you said a decline from 2000 to 2010. There you went from nudity being everywhere due to low regulations on anime and loosely defined genres to it being reserved more for series aimed solely at otaku. But saying there was a decline from 2015 to 2025 doesn't make sense. 2022 and 23 may have been bad years. But since then it has rebounded and we are getting plenty of good announcements. All because Mahoako proved that ecchi still sells really good. Now the financiers are reinterested in the otaku audience after realizing there is nothing else that spends quite like they do.
