This is pretty cancerous. Why don't they have more frames if they're gonna do this? It's just a fucking static shot how hard can it be to increase the framerate?

variable framerate looks uncanny, that's why they stick with the same rate for the whole show.

Nigga, anime is already super inconsistent about framerates. Shit like panning will be at 24 FPS but characters will be animated at 8 FPS in a shot and 12 FPS in another

that's just an example of bad framerate OP
of course it gives your eyes cancer
the technology to save your eyes was invented long ago: the whip and the club. the animators must be beaten so that they draw more frames

Practically every show is made at 24 FPS (the framerate at which OP is panning)
If you'd double the framerate (webm related), people would complain that it's weird because they've been watching shows at 24 FPS their entire lives

How is this not seen as a problem? Why does the industry absolutely insist on staying at 24 FPS?
>yeah sure, you can't pan horizontally past a certain speed or it'll rape your eyes but you can't change the standard framerate we've been using for 100 years because... YOU JUST CAN'T OKAY?!

it works fine for live action since there's blur, its only when you try to do it with perfectly sharp frames that it looks really bad.

Have your monitor refresh rate match the frame rate of the video. Or so they say but even with custom resolutions sert in MadVR my monitor just stays black and refuses to post if said to 24, or 48.

I think the issue is by just doubling the frame rate with the same amount of frames you've ruined the timing making it shit for a different reason.
