Serious question, why do people read this?
>>280594312 (OP)People thought it was a "he gets his shit together" story but instead it was an old school "play the same gag for hundreds of chapters" story.
>>280594312 (OP)People will consume anything that doesn't require thought. Why would they read an interesting manga when they can read slop and claim to be part of the culture.
>>280594312 (OP)it's better to be a simp than a repulsive incel who no woman would touch with a ten-foot pole
>>280594725the incel is more financially responsible than the simp though
>>280594783Not if he's into gatchashit.
>>280594312 (OP)the manga is serving as an example of what not to do, idk why this is hard to accept
>>280594312 (OP)>Serious question, why do people read this?I wouldn't use the term "people" so loosely.
>>280594312 (OP)Sunk cost fallacy retards
>>280594312 (OP)It has a kind of novelty to it. Being a legitimately painful read and having an unintentionally detestable cast and a looney ass author.
Replacement question: why do "people" watch clickbait anitubers, download their thumbnails, and post them as thread OPs, and why are they not instantly deleted?
>>280594312 (OP)It's a product designed to appeal to a specific demographic: loner incel otaku who find the idea of a woman not existing to serve the sexual needs of a man and receiving "protection" in return, to be abhorrent. Without this being considered, no discussion of Rent-A-Girlfriend can be complete. It's like trying to discuss the fallout of Attack on Titan without having a discussion about Japanese fascism.
>>280594312 (OP)because of the cute manga girls? I mean, there are people that not only watch but enjoy hideous stuff like Big Mouth and all the nu-Pixar beanmouth crap....
that should tell you something
>>280601947this truly is a doggy dog world where you can't take anything for granite
>>280594312 (OP)IDK it's probably because you keep spamming it, someone falls for the bait to see what u're talking about lol
>>280594312 (OP)Why do simps donate to streamers? IDK, probably they expect something, a good ending if not in reality, but in fiction at least
>>280595011Saving money is saving money
>>280594312 (OP)Same reason people watch telenovelas
>>280605989Can you translate that to a civilized language
>>280594312 (OP)It's like Nisekoi really.
>>280602859Nothing wrong with supporting something you enjoy. There is something wrong with the retards who look at streaming, look at the 100 biggest streamers, don't see a single woman and then go "man, those bitches have it too easy".
>>280602859desu it's better than donating to some dweeb guy.
Both are retarded but I would rather donate to a cute girl
All JP shounen romances are the same. Not exactly the same, but the same broad themes and beats. The same rules such as the main girl is always without exception to official pairing and winner (except in a few cases of tragedy where they are permanently separated because of death etc). There will NEVER, EVER be a development where the main girl and guy aren’t in love with one another — and that counts for harems as well (except for porn). ALL shounen romances are mono-romances regardless of how large the cast is (again outside of porn). And in ALL cases outside of harems, the main girl will always be the hottest (2nd hottest in the case of harems where the 1st hottest is held in reserve for the final arc to provide dramatic tension).
Also JP media is enslaved to an absolute law of morality (except for porn). That means NO MATTER WHAT, separation between the main couple can only be something not the fault of either party and no diminishment of love, ie, misunderstandings, distancing for others’ sake, etc. They will NEVER so much as cheat on each other mentally. These factors together is why shounen romances are such boring trash.
>>280603855You can't save money with no income.
>>280594312 (OP)To see pretty girls.
It's like porn, it's the girls that attract views.
Only fags are more attentive to men.
>>280607808I think you mean a soap opera.
>>280608165He wanted a translation and "telenovels" it's a literal translation of telenovelas
>>280594312 (OP)Cause it's cute, funny, and good.
>>280608906Yeah anon, thats the joke
>>280606202>There is something wrong with the retards who look at streaming, look at the 100 biggest streamers, don't see a single woman and then go "man, those bitches have it too easy".Not like you have to be top 100 to make easy money.
Do people not get that this show is a comedy where the joke is that he is comically pathetic? People don't read this and go "whoa the huge fucking loser MC is literally me" they go whoa he's sooo pathetic that's funny (desu he is literally me tho)
>>280594783Who cares? What the fuck is even the point of having money if you aren't providing for anyone, and not clapping any cheeks? you just using it to buy figurines?
>>280594454I read the first 15 chapters or so, it was very different back then but then it got really popular and the artist couldn't walk away from all that sweet ¥¥¥¥¥ and now we're here.
Cheeky Brat all over again.
>>280615809>Cheeky Brat all over again. What happened to that series?
>>280615831It was really good for the first 7 chapters of so and then it got too popular to go anywhere and then it got stuck in limbo never resolving the tension for like 30 volumes or whatever.
In fact it was far better than this at the start and with that I mean far more poorly written, far worse art, but prime rapechad scenes and an all around more interesting dynamic because this at the start had a faggot protagonist but he wasn't half as bad as he later ended up but Cheeky Brat's protagonist was the shit and just looks the sexual harasser in the eye at the the start after the boob groping scene and is like “You do not impress me? You think this startles me or something?”
>>280606202All this tells you is that despite the innate advantages of pretty faces and cleavage, men are just that much better at games and entertainment.
>>280594312 (OP)It is simply the pinnacle of human achievement, completely unrivaled throughout the entirety of human history.
>>280594312 (OP)>romance plus multiple important not romantic storylines >deep main characters >absolutely perfect pacing before the infamous paradise namek >not really an harem even if presented as one>the writing being great when the arcs are great >still very interesting after hundreds of chapters >the author ACTUALLY delivering eventually Yeah, filler, ads, stalling, etc suck ass, but there's a reason the franchise is still popular after all these years
>>280615105"Tele" comes from "televisión" which just means television
And "novela" just means "novel" (novelas is the plural of novels)
>>280619356This. It's an extremely deep manga that teaches men the joys of being a pathetic simp.
