Kohaku anal

Haven't watched E14, here are my thoughts for E13:
I was eally excited for this episode. Deducing the epicentre is the best maths moment of the series, and thus one of thi highlights of the series. It's an intuitive geometry problem but still requires some intermediate maths to crank out the coords. Abstract enough to live in the holy realm of mathematics. It also works out great thematically: teamwork illuminates.
They adapted the scene well, except for the bit where chrome blissfully looks at senku and xeno engaged in discussion. It didn't move me at all. Not sure how to fix it though.
I disliked the child xeno anime original content. I've loved the previous anime-original content (freeze-dried noodles, fireworks), but this felt lazy. It would have been cooler to see something different.
Maybe a teenage Xeno collaborating on a project and solving a hard problem, him understanding the elegance of something (e.g. lagrangian), or him discovering a neat trick to make an experiment/machine work. Plus Xeno's dislike for humanity's priorities could be reflected in him not having the funds to do crazy experiments.
Though I suppose that might not be as easy to exposit. I don't think it's necessary to have Stanley there.

The OP is bad like always (though it at leas t it didn't spoil much) and the ED is mediocre. I think the OPs, much like the show are too dramatic and insists upon its own importance too much. Too many dramatic shots, too many timelapses abd too much introspection. I want to see people *doing* stuff insyead.
For an ED I wanna see an uneventful yet detailed view of Kaseki's workflow. In the morning he's adjusting designs, then he gathers material and then makes the parts. Maybe he then checks up on some glassware before heading to lunch with the mangaka and trying out Yo's dessert (it's actually good). Then he returns and carefully wires up the electrics and assembles the device. He polishes and finishes the wood with the same care Kohaku's shield was made with. At the end it's revealed to be the sewing machine that Yuzuriha requested.
I want to see the gang sew clothes around the clock for the light novel summer party. I want to see Chrome and Kaseki build their waterwheel. I want to see Xeno and co make and test guns. I want to see Minami documenting the construction of the Perseus. I want to see Francois teaching baking to Turqouise. I want to see Magma, Yo and Mantle fucking about with that Nikki on their tail. Maybe Senku Taiju and Yuzuriha hang out like in the old days. Maybe Ryusui hops onto an Ishigami village fishing trip and learns how they do things. And once the characters have done all that hard work then that moment of self-reflection will be earned and meaningful.

As for the OP i think you could still use elements of this. A montage of everyone seeming to collaborate on some task by leveraging their specialties looks far more powerful than them just standing or clapping there. For example you could have a sequence that hints at the aircraft carrier. Senku and Kaseku machine the parts needed for the slingshot. Chrome and Ryusui coordinate the muscle team who are laying down deck reinforcing for the runway. Suika and Gen check if it's flat with a taut string and then Senku smiles tiumphantly or smth an the sequence ends before too much is given away.

I don't like systems and game mechanics, but tbf I haven't watched much of a story that does have those. I assume these mechanics lead to characters with masteries in multiple supernatural powers, reducing the breadth and depth of organisations to the point that the juicy parts runs dry. (Tho tbf AofB doesn't do a examine non-MC orgs too much) Also Slime seemed too kumbaya and didn't seem to showcase the culture of its societies (and how that may complicate administration) in a meaningful way. (E.g. rites of passage, views on corporal punishment, religion)

even honzuki (i haven't read part 1 i admit, only 2-5) omitted possible cool things about the world. i will grant you we got good snippets of noble life here and there from other POVs, but it was high fantasy so it didn't have to be as batshit interconnected and nuanced as real history. gods this, magic that and the author could handwave some issues.
