Why is Japan so scared of making Zombie anime/mangas? The only good quality media is Highschool Of The Dead and that got canned because one of the creators died, and ever since then there have been no (good) Zombie Apocalypse mangas ever, letalone anime adaptations

It started as successful webnovel -> visual novel -> A sub-par manga that became very infamous thanks to a japanese meme -> anime already announced.

There used to be more OVAs where they're allowed to get away with more stuff before 2010 and trashy manga whose focus was to be edgy for the sake of being edgy were trendy until the pandemic.
Now there are fewer gore manga since it isn't "trendy" but the ones that we get usually have more substance since they're gory not for the sake of being edgy but for enhancing the story or because rule of cool. But since there are less popular gore manga now we get less gore adaptations.

Give me a break. There are so many zombie manga.
