It occurs to me that Nene's hair was once entirely bright green and it just faded with new hair growing in that is the original blond color.

Oh yeah, that character just randomly stopped appearing.
To be honest, nearing the end of season 2.1 I started saying there finally got to be a plot but most of that has just been abandoned now and the story is back to inconsequential loosely connected “arcs” now.

That Nene will die in one year feels like a fairly important thing but they just don't reference it any more now. This title was so obviously made up as it went along.

True, but it also doesn't impact anything really while it made a big impact in last season when they were trapped in that fake world constructed by Sizima and it actually felt like there was a coherent plot.

It just feels like past events don't really impact future events much in this title beyond “referencing” them and it also feels like it's more a case
