It kinda devolved from then on with the idol arc and retarded plots. I'm assuming you've finished the manga. As other's pointed out, nothing much happens in their relationship. Urabe's ability isn't elaborated upon either. She was supposed to be an ayy or some kind of robot initially which would've been more interesting. There's an omake which references this.
I don't think the ending would've rustled as many jimmies as it did had the series been shorter, developed Tsubaki and Urabe's relationship further along through their bond--think something like in Kiznaiver--and had they cut out most of the retarded drama shoehorned in. It should've leaned more towards mystery and figuring Urabe out.
